Nova Biomedical's webinar: Best Practices for Managing Sepsis and Septic Shock Including the Use of ePV
Sepsis is a life-threatening condition, and even though the prognosis of patients with sepsis has improved through advances in critical care management, mortality from sepsis remains high.
Nova Biomedical is organizing an educational webinar during March 2024 related to Managing Sepsis and Septic Shock.
Dr. Devang Sanghavi, MD, Director of the MICU, Chair of the Sepsis Work Group, and Associate Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic will discuss key considerations and controversies surrounding sepsis identification and resuscitation. He will present data from his clinical study of estimated plasma volume (ePV), for managing the volume status of sepsis patients.
The webinar also includes a discussion of the new Sep1 sepsis management metric, which incorporates the need for volume assessment and close fluid management.
Dennis Begos reviews the use of ePV status to assess fluid balance in several critical illnesses including sepsis and describes the ability of the Prime Plus analyzer to provide immediate ePV results as part of its comprehensive 22-test critical care profile.
